Thirty-ninth Post Ever...

"LUCY! I'm home!!!"

Well, here I am, back at home. (For a while, until we leave again next saturday to go to 3Hills) Anyways, I had SO much fun in New York! It was crazy fun! The first day we were there, we shopped, and shopped, and ate some extremely yummy pretzels that tasted like hot dogs if you dipped them in mustard. I bought a pair of shoes, two hats, a t-shirt, a magnetic frame, and two belts. We saw the Empire State Building too, but we didn't go up because there was ZERO visibility that day, and really, who wants to go up the Empire State Building to look at fog/smog! We also saw a "show" on Broadway...if you could call 'Over the Hedge' a show. Never in my life have I heard so many people laugh at one movie. It was quite funny just to listen to these people laugh. Second day we went out to Battery Park via subway, and we got on the ferry and went to Liberty Island. We figured eating hot dogs on Liberty Island was a good touristy thing to do, so eat hot dogs we did! And then we got back on the ferry and went back to the hotel. Then we figured we could use a little more shopping, so I bought boots at the Manhattan Mall, and we had some more REALLY delicious pretzels, and I bought a game for the Gamecube that Nicole and I got for Christmas. We also went into Daffy's: The discouont store for Millionaires. We then had a fantastic supper at some Mexican restaurant by the hotel. Then we had this super long day trying to get home! We were up for something like 22 hours the day we came home, 'twas crazzzy!

And yeah, that's pretty much our trip in a slightly large nutshell.

I figured that I could kill two birds with one stone on my pictures for NY and put them in this fun album that Dad has set up for me on the Computer!

And to finish off the post, some funny sayings from signs around the world:

Thirty-eighth Post Ever...

Well, this week has been pretty much a week for relaxing. Justina and Stephen are here, and we've watched like...a gazillion stargate episodes. And since we're on the topic of stargate, I've decided that this quote was worthy of my blog...so...this is something I haven't done in a while...
My quote of the day is:

"Hammond is insisting SG-1 needs a sociopolitical nerd to offset our overwhelming coolness."
"Have you considered Jonas Quinn?"
"Now I know you've been practicing, but I still can't tell…is that a joke?"

Anyways, we've been swinging and we went through the hobo-forest and Nicole got all wet 'cause she fell in the creek. And yeah, it's been fun. Monday afternoon we wentg out to White Rock because they haven't been to the beach in ages, so we went, and ate gelato...mmm...And then yeah...

I have decided that I will share some of my insight into computers with the world. I was browsing on Google...looking for "Google Art" when I stumbled across a rather cool little Photoshop tutorial on how to make your own "Google Logo." Leaping at the chance to enhance my computer savvy, I decided to do the tutorial and see what I ended up with! Here is the result of my (not so hard) work. As you can see (my version is on top, the actual is underneath) I did not too bad for a first try.

Since it looked so dang cool, I decided that I would try making some different versions...

The Committee Of Official Randomness Google Logo:

Nicole's Name Google Logo:

Stephen's Nickname Google Logo:

If you want to know how to do this, I suggest you go to the website where I first found the tutorial; http://www.logoogle.com/Photoshop-Tutorials-Google-Logo-1.htm.

I hope you enjoy futzing with this stuff... (by the way, futz is not just a made up word, Jack O'neill used this word in one of the stargate season seven episodes!)

Thirty-seventh Post Ever...

WOW! I haven't posted in forever.....so here goes posting...

Now here is where everything gets very very confusing...because I have to finish posting about Disneyland, but I also have to post about Hawaii...hmm...I think everyone will be ok if I just post sort of the hilights of our Hawaii trip, and then finish the Disneyland one like I started it. Ok so about Hawaii first then...

Let's see, we left on Monday morning with Dad to go to Hawaii, because he had to go anyway for work. So we get in the car and drive over to the airport, hop on the plane and get to Hawaii about seven hours after leaving home. Nicole and I were bushed after the five and a half hour plane ride, so we decided just to crash in the hotel. So crash we did. We got up the next morning and Dad took us to Perry's Smorgy (a smorgasboard that goes all day, breakfast, lunch and supper). It was actually really good, as far as resteraunt breakfasts go. Then we sort of browsed Waikiki for a while, then we went to the "Round Table" for lunch (it's a pizza joint). And then we took a bus to Ala Moana Center, which is this really big shopping mall out in Honolulu. After stopping in at the Disney store, eating at Tony Roma's express and waiting for the bus, we went back to Waikiki and walked on the beach for a while, and then we went back to the hotel. (For those of you unfarmiliar with Waikiki and Honolulu, it's kind of like White Rock and South Surrey, Waikiki is just a bunch of tourist-y stuff by the beach, and Hononlulu is the bigger city-er part) Dad had to go to Sydney, and we weren't going with him, so he left and we stayed. The next day us three girls just sort of hung out at the pool, and read, and hung out at the beach, and hung out in the room, and read, and went to ABC and yeah. (ABC is this HUGE chain of stores in Hawaii, there is one on almost every single street corner in Waikiki, and they are basically like a well stocked convenience store) Anyways, the next day mom, nicole and I headed out to the "Polynesian Cultural Center." Polynesia is a whole bunch of islands (aka: Hawaii, Fiji, Somoa, Tonga, New Zealand and such) and on Hawaii there is this culture center that actually supports a whole wack of college students. So going there helped a bunch of people get through school! It was an awesome day! We had so much fun, just walking through and seeing all the things these people did, and the way their cultures were formed! We went to a luau that night (the most authentic luau in all of Hawaii, it even won an award) and we saw this sweet show at the end of the day where all the staff came and performed these really cool dance's from the different islands. And we learned that Hawaii isn't the island with the dance that has the really fast hips and stuff, that Tahiti. Those girls had bobble-hips! Twas nuts the way they could move their hips so fast, and the rest of them could stay stationary! It boggeled the mind. After we got back to the Hotel we had to wait for dad to get back from Sydney, and then the next day we just sort of browsed around the international market that they have in Hawaii and mom got a sweet pearl ring, and I got some awesome capri's that say Hawaii on the bum... heheh. And then we went home that night and we got home at like...eight AM! It was nuts, because we had spent the whole night on the airplane! Anyways, Hawaii is amazing! If you ever have the chance to go there do not pass it up! It was so fun, and really nice and hot, so if you're looking for an amazing tropical destination, Hawaii is the way to go!
